If you are a registered owner of our First Strike or Sathero meters, you can request a current satellite/transponder list. However the list is extensive and usually has about 139 pages. So what do you do? Print it out? Take it with you up on a roof in the wind with a meter in one hand and the list in the other hand.

Even less convenient is to carry your laptop with you. Now you just need to contend with boot up time, battery charges, and protecting your laptop in your service truck. What else can you do?

Our February 2012 Satellite / Transponder list is now available by request or download to our registered meter users.

Each month we publish a up to date listing of all satellites and transponders from around the world. This list is available to registered owners of our meters. You can get it by logging into our software page and downloading it. Our lists are formated in a easy to understand style matching that of your meter.

Keep in mind that this list is well over 100 pages long.

How do I save a transponder that I entered by hand?

If you manually enter a transponder and want to save it for future use you need to press the 'SCAN' button to save. If you are only using the transponder one time and don't want to save it, do not press the 'SCAN' button.

Can't get your Sathero Meter or First Strike Meter to load? You know the software is mature and well tested by many meter owners. I actually get a few emails or calls complaining about the software not loading. In most cases this problem can be solved by cleaning the computer. I've put together a short article on this that I've been sending out for years simply named Clean Computers.

It is always good to keep your computer clean. It helps avoid virus's and malware.

Our first 2012 Satellite/Transponder list is available. Registered owners of our meters can request a list.
This list of satellites and transponder settings is 139 pages long. Icomes in a pdf file and can be used for a reference for the settings ofyour meter (or your receiver).

Recently DMS International released our Avenger PLL321S-2 PLL LNBFwith 300KHz (or better) stability. This LNBF improves receptioncapability on all receivers. If you are using MPEG4 receivers thisLNBF will give you a better and more stable reception. We are gettingreports of vast improvements on channels that were tiling and blockingbefore. Even channels that could not be received now become not onlyavailable but rock solid.

The better traditional LNBFs give about 1.5MHz (1,500 KHz) stability. Lots of the low end LNBFs have 3MHz (3,000 KHz) stability. You can getby with these on MPEG2 SD with few problems, but with MPEG2 HD youshould consider stability of 1.5MHz a absolute minimum. Even then youcan see some problems. MPEG4 is a different animal. The compressionis greatly increased, making stability a major issue. MPEG4 HD jamstons of data in even smaller spaces. Properly rendering your MPEG4signals requires better LNBFs with high stability. Your traditional LNBF is no longer good enough. As this technology of higher compression and faster transfers improves the requirements for higher stability increases.

I have heard lots of complaints that MPEG4 receivers won't get all theavailable channels or some channels are seriously tiling and freezing. Most likely this is not a receiver problem, but a problem deliveringgood stable signal to the receiver. Think about it. When we went fromMPEG2 to MPEG4 we made a huge leap in technology of receivers. Itstands to reason that we need the same huge leap of technology in ourLNBFs. We have provided this for you in our Avenger PLL321S-2 PLL LNBF.

The good news is that our Avenger PLL321S-2 PLL LNBF is priced in the same range as the traditional LNBFs making it a no brainer to upgrade your LNBF. Don't install a new receiver without installing a new Avenger PLL321S-2 PLL LNBF.

How to Factory Reset your meter

Starting with your meter OFF, press and hold the 'OK' button.
Continue holding the 'OK' button and turn on your meter.
When the meter completely boots up you will see:
You can now release the 'OK' button and make your selection.

Adjust the brightness of your Sathero SH-200

Here is some good news for those of you who ask me about adjusting the LCD. The operating software for the SH-200 has been improved and is available to registered owners for download. This version adds speed, improved signal locking and improved accuracy. It now includes the ability to adjust the brightness of your LCD.

Satellite / Transponder List updated

Today I updated the satellite/transponder list. This list includes all the known satellites and transponders around the world. I provide 2 of these lists to registered owners of First Strike Meters and Sathero Meters. Each list is formatted for the specific meter you have. I provide this service free of charge to registered owners of our meters. You simply need to provide your registered meter information and request the list. These lists are extensive which makes them long. Usually they are about 140 pages and come as a PDF file.

When you register your meter it is critical that you provide the serial number and registration code correctly. Each meter is checked against our production list and verified that it is actually ours. On First Strike Meters we check the serial number and Sathero Meters we check the registration code found on the inside of the battery door. We fully support meters that came from us however we are not able to support meters that did not come from us.

Today I have updated our Sathero SH-200 master list. For you guys who want to make your own custom lists, you can start with our master list and simply delete the information you don't want. Makes it very easy to build custom lists. Instructions are included.

To give you an idea of how extensive our list is, it contains 6,822 lines of information. Many have told us that our Satellite / Transponder list is the most accurate one available. It's what we base our Sathero SH-200 master list on.

How to use the Update Tool from your USB drive

Did you know that the Sathero Update Tools does not install on your computer? It runs 'stand-alone' or 'portable' and does not require installation. This great feature allows you to run it from your USB flash drive or just about any read/write portable storage device.

To put it on your USB flash drive (or other device) simply un-zip the downloaded file to your USB flash drive keeping everything in the folder that the zipped file makes for you.

To run the program, navigate to the UpdateTools.exe file and double click it. It will run just like it was on your hard drive.

This handy feature allows you to carry the Update Tools with you and use them on any computer.

It is another great feature of Sathero Meters.

October 13, 2011 we have released our next version of the Sathero SH-200 Update Tool.
It connects to your PC easier and works better than the previous version.

Some users told us that they were unable to see the COM ports in thewindow or drop down list. That problem has been addressed and fixed.

We have produced a MASTER Satellite / Transponder list for Sathero SH-200 meters. This list contains all known satellites and transponders world wide. 6,822 lines of information.

Register owners of Sathero SH-200 purchased from us can request this list. So what do you do with it? You modify it taking out the satellites you don't want and the transponders you don't need, making your own custom list for your meter. It's a lot faster and easier than typing in all the information by hand..... which is what we did for you.

Today I updated our worldwide satellite/transponder list. It is 134 pages of all known satellites and transponders world wide. It comes to you as a pdf file that is only 413kb.

It is free of charge to any registered owner who purchased a Sathero meter that came from us. Sorry but we don't provide our lists to others. It costs us a good bit of money and time to assemble these lists that some people believe is the most accurate list available.

National Day holiday delays Sathero production

Sathero SH-200 is selling out almost as fast as we can get them in. The shipment that was seized by US Customs is still in their possession and we are still waiting for some decision to be handed down.

That seizure has really thrown a monkey wrench into our scheduling. Well, that and the fact that the factory has way too many holidays. Speaking of holidays, October 1st to October 7th is National Day in China. It is a major holiday for them and everything shuts down. It's another delay in the Sathero supply chain since we can not get the shipment done before the holiday.

I know I said we would be caught up after the last shipment (and the shipment before that) but it seems meters are selling very well. Actually they are flying out the door.

Pre orders get shipped first and in the order they were received. Thanks for your patience.

Connect your peaking meter to PORT 2 on the LNBF, to peak on72.7°W. After maximizing the signal received from 72.7°W confirm signalon 61.5°W.
Connect a receiver to PORT 1 of the LNBF to power the LNBF whilepeaking.
Cables must be routed on the outside of the mast, as the azimuthplate completely covers the mast opening.

Sathero Meters Update

If everything goes as scheduled (you know it always does), a shipment of Sathero Meters will be at our warehouse late Thursday (tomorrow). We will be shipping them on Friday.

No, this is not the shipment that was seized by customs. That shipment remains in a bonded warehouse. The outcome of that shipment remains to be seen.

Sathero meters get close to our warehouse (I hope!)

It's absolutely unreal how slow our government moves. As you know, our shipment of Sathero Meters was seized by customs. It has been over a month that they have held this shipment. It is very frustrating and it makes me want to complain, however I know being on the wrong side of customs is the last place I want to be.

The following shipment of Sathero meters has been air lifted and I expect to have them next week. (That is if customs don't seize them)

So, two shipments of Satheros by air freight and I don't have even one to sell, but hopefully the latest air shipment will arrive next week. This will give us enough to catch up our back orders. The shipment after this one will go to production as soon as the parts vendors deliver parts to us.

True to my word, I have left the special in effect and will do so until the Sathero meters are in our warehouse and available for shipping. Consider that you (dealers and resellers) have been warned. Price will be going up as soon as we have product.
